Yesterday would have been Ansel Adams 114th birthday. Born in San Francisco in 1902, Ansel helped revolutionize the art and technology of photography. Sweeping western landscapes, taken with black and white film, were one of his strong suits.
The occasion inspired me to revisit a favorite shot of the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River. Happy birthday to Ansel in that great darkroom in the sky.
